| JLT HISTORY COMMITTEE | A committee has been formed to compile and research the overwhelming amount of material that has been compiled since the formation of Joplin Little Theatre in 1939.
We are hoping to organize this material in a way that it can be displayed and enjoyed by our patrons. There are notebooks full of Board meeting minutes, scrapbooks full of newspaper articles and pictures, newsletters, programs. There is the wonderful collection of pictures from shows from 1939 to 1980 (many of these were restored in the 1990's by Philip Jones and Cleo Copeland), and file folders full of pictures from shows of recent years.
We are missing show photographs from 1980 to 1995. If anyone has some of these, we would love to see them and add to our collection.
This is just the beginning of a challenging and interesting journey. We welcome any suggestions you may have to help us along the way.

IT'S IN A NAME... YOUR NAME!
TAKE A SEAT!
The Joplin Little Theatre has 181 seats that are looking for a few good names! You can now have your name, your family name or business name inscribed on the back of the theatre seats in the JLT house as lasting tribute and help JLT at the same time. For a cost of $250 donation, we will name a seat for you and will inscribe a plaque that is mounted to the back of the seat for all to see when they see a show at the theatre. The money raised will go to the purchase of new seating for the theatre and at that time, all the names will be moved to the new seats. For more information, please call our box office at (417) 623-3638 and we will give you all the details. |

ANNIE GET YOUR GUN Cast is announced Posted by gr on Thursday, July 03 @ 12:32:44 CDT (41 reads) Topic
| | AGLile writes " Thank you to all who auditioned. It was a very difficult decision.
The first rehearsal will be MONDAY, JULY 7, 2008 at 7:00 pm. Please be there a little early so we can get started promptly at 7:00 pm.
Please enter through the backstage door. This is the door through which you will enter for all rehearsals. The front doors will not be unlocked.
You will be filling out bios for the program. Please bring a pencil. Lara Hicks will also be there to take measurements for costumes.
If you have an asterisk by your name, that means you will be getting a full script. I must have a deposit of $25.00 before I can give you the script. When you turn in your script, you will receive your deposit back. If you lose your script or damage it, this deposit will pay for it. This is a Joplin Little Theatre policy. For those who do not get a full script, I will be copying the parts you will need. You will be required to return the copies to me at the end of the production. This is a contractual requirement of the Rodgers & Hammerstein Library.
We are looking forward to a wonderful experience.
Ann, Cecie, Angela, Nicholas

Announcements: SUMMER FUNDRAISER Posted by laurao on Wednesday, June 25 @ 11:39:12 CDT (35 reads) Topic
| SUMMER FUNDRAISER
FOREVER PLAID runs June 28 & 29, 2008 with 2:30pm curtain. Tickets are $10.00 for all ages, and are still available. Please call the theatre box office 417-623-3638 as reservations are required.
Buy your tickets now before they are all gone. Sunday, June 29th - tea at 1:30pm
Personifying the clean-cut genre are the PLAIDS. This quartet of school chums’ earnest dreams of recording an album ended in death (literally and indeed, symbolically) in a collision with a bus filled with Catholic schoolgirls or their way to see the Beatles’ American debut on The Ed Sullivan Show. The play begins with the Plaids returning from the afterlife for one final chance at musical glory – the girls miraculously escaped uninjured. The members of FOREVER PLAID were killed instantly. It is that moment when their careers ended, that the story of FOREVER PLAID begins…. A bittersweet comedy, filled with much loved music, FOREVER PLAID will touch the hearts and funny bones of all ages!

THE JOPLIN GLOBE Sunday, June 8, 2008
After nearly 30 years of intimate involvement in the glamour of Joplin Little Theatre’s stage and the chaos of behind-the-scenes management, Cecie Fritz’s history and the history of the longest continuously running community theater west of the Mississippi are one and the same.
